OXIGENOTERAPIA HIPERBÁRICA: SUAS INDICAÇÕES E CONTRAINDICAÇÕES NO CONTROLE DAS INFECÇÕES

Resumo

Sem oxigênio não existiria vida, e por meio das propriedades deste gás, muitas enfermidades podem ser tratadas e até mesmo curadas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi adquirir maior conhecimento do existente em meio acadêmico, para aprimoramento pessoal e com caráter principal de revisão bibliográfica narrativa da literatura pertinente sobre as indicações e contraindicações do tratamento com oxigênio a 100% em ambientes pressurizados. A oxigenoterapia hiperbárica (OTHB) é uma terapia cientificamente justificada e estabelecida internacionalmente, porém, não é bem conhecida sendo raramente usada. O uso indiscriminado pode causar sérios danos irreversíveis por vezes e há altos riscos físicos envolvidos. Foi concluído, através de uma pesquisa por descritores pertinentes ao assunto e após análise crítica dos artigos relacionados, que existem sim contraindicações bem esclarecidas e indicações para o tratamento. Porém que devem ser aplicadas com critério, de acordo com o estado de saúde de cada paciente e de acordo com a indicação clínica que é privativa ao médico. Num total de dezesseis patologias com indicação positiva para tratamento adjuvante com oxigenoterapia hiperbárica aprovadas pelo Conselho Federal de Medicina (CFM), essas doenças são subdivididas ainda pela Sociedade Brasileira de Medicina Hiperbárica (SBMH), fomentadora e incentivadora de pesquisas na área e responsável pela organização, normalização e divulgação no Brasil.

HIPERBARIC OXIGENOTHERAPY: ITS INDICATIONS AND CONTRAINDICATIONS IN INFECTION CONTROL

Without oxygen there would be no life, and through the properties of this gas, many ailments can be treated and even cured. The objective of this work was to acquire a greater knowledge of the existing one in academic environment, for personal improvement and with main character of bibliographical revision narrative of the pertinent literature on the indications and contraindications of the treatment with 100% oxygen in pressurized environments. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a scientifically justified and internationally established therapy, but it is not well known and rarely used. Indiscriminate use can cause serious irreversible damage at times and there are high physical risks involved. It was concluded, through a search by descriptors pertinent to the subject and after critical analysis of the related articles, that there are yes against well-informed indications and indications for the treatment. However, they should be applied with discretion, according to the state of health of each patient and according to the clinical indication that is exclusive to the physician. In a total of sixteen pathologies with positive indication for adjuvant treatment with hyperbaric oxygen therapy approved by the Federal Council of Medicine, these diseases are further subdivided by the Brazilian Society of Hyperbaric Medicine, which promotes research in the area and is responsible organization, standardization and dissemination in Brazil.
